Application Process

The University of Queensland School of Medicine Ochsner Clinical School program has rolling admissions. Seats are offered on a first come first serve basis to students who meet the requirements for admission. We recommend that interested students submit their application as early as possible.

Requirements for Admission

Minimum MCAT score of 24M (8, 8, M, 8), taken in a single sitting within 3 years of the start of classes (after January 2010).

A "B" average in a bachelor’s or more advanced degree, earned no more than 10 years before the start of classes (from January 2003 on).

1. Application Form
Download the application from our website, fill it out, and mail it to our office. We do not accept AMCAS applications. We can not accept faxed or emailed applications.

2. MCAT Score Report
Send us your MCAT score report, including the verification number and AAMC ID number, either in pdf format via email to: info@mededpath.org, or by mail to our office. To find out when the next MCAT test will be given, click here.

3. Official Transcripts
Transcripts from your degree-granting institution as well as transcripts for transfer credits are required Request that your official transcripts be mailed from your college or university to our office. We also accept transcripts sent electronically by the credit-granting institution and from Interfolio.

4. Resume
Please send us your resume (CV).

5. Recommendations
Recommendations are not required. If you have recommendations, please have them sent to our office.

6. Fee
There is no application fee.

7. Receipt of Documents
We will send you an e-mail acknowledging each document’s receipt in our office. When your application is complete, it will be sent to Brisbane for assessment.

8. Admissions Decisions
Decisions are made approximately 8 weeks after application submission. Applicants will receive an email notifying them of the admissions decision.

9. Conditional Offers
Students who have not yet completed their Bachelor’s degree when applying, and whose applications are reviewed favorably, will be given a conditional offer of admission pending successful completion of the B.A. degree in May or October 2012.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition for the Class of 2012: $52,000 U.S. per year
Health Insurance (OSHC) - Australia: $1,960 AUD. (This is prepaid coverage for a single individual for 4 years in Australia. Approximately half will be refunded after the 4th year.)
